Lucy hails from the green hills of the south west and currently live near Brighton. She's an artist and illustrator with a love of hands on processes and exploring different mediums. Lucy's passionate about creating fun and accessible art that she hopes is a celebration of the human spirit. Lucy exhibited with us this year for Arty Farty and with her piece Bathers, anyone who has a cheeky nipple tweak in their work is definitely a friend of ours!
HoS / What do you do with yourself all day?
LS / I try to get up early and crack straight on with whatever I'm working on at my desk. I spend a lot of my day thinking of ideas for things I'd like to create, and scheming how to go about doing them. I also work part-time in a shop where I design cards and prints. I try to do as much hands on making as I do sitting in front of the computer.
HoS / If your work was a song, TV show, film or a person, what/who would it be?
LS / If it were a person I think it would be a big bald man in a Hawaiian shirt eating a hot dog.
HoS / What's your spirit inanimate object?
LS / A plank of wood
HoS / Got any habits?
LS / I enjoy clapping a lot at the moment, aiming for the perfect wood-block like clap sound. I find myself doing this a lot while I'm waiting for things to load/kettles to boil.
HoS / If no one was watching, what would you do?
LS / Get real comfy
